Full tracklist

* Benny Sings – You and me feat. Goldlink
Having recently announced his debut album with Soulection, Washington, DC rapper GoldLink now connects with Dutch singer-producer Benny Sings in his new track “You And Me.” via hypetrack.

* Skence – La Tempete
After a EP and a few productions for National Geographic, french producer Skence releases his first album “home” on Nowadays Records. Listen also to his exclusive mix for LDBK.

* Jonny Drop – Mind Field
Though an experienced beat maker, until now Drop is best known in London funk and soul circles as one quarter of The Expansions and for elevating rhythm sections as live drummer for Andrew Ashong, The Gene Dudley Group (Wah Wah 45s) and more – bandcamp

* NxWorries – Droogs
R&B vocalist Anderson .Paak and producer Knxwledge are working together as NxWorries (pronounced “No Worries”). Last Spring, they debuted with the single “Suede” which quickly caught fire and found the ears of Dr. Dre. Anderson .Paak went on to record eight tracks with Dre that appeared on his album Compton. FADER declared Anderson .Paak, “the L.A. savant all over Dr. Dre’s new album”, but his own credits go beyond vocalist – he’s a songwriter, drummer, an incredible live performer and producer. Knxwledge (“knowledge”) is a prolific hip-hop beat maker from Los Angeles whose record Hud Dreems came out this year. His production credits include tracks for Joey Badass and Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly (2015). NxWorries recently completed a national tour with Earl Sweatshirt and are putting the finishing touches on their full-length album for Stones Throw Records, set for release in 2016.

* BadBadNotGood – Timewave Zero
Following their debut album III on Innovative Leisure in 2014 and collaborations with Ghostface Killah on Sour Soul and Daniel Ceasar on Pilgrim’s Paradise, Toronto jazz trio BADBADNOTGOOD have returned to the studio to work on their new album. As a teaser the band shared ‘Timewave Zero‘, a track flickering break beats and passages reminiscent of Italian soundtracks of the late ’60s.

* Sepalcure – Fight For Us feat. Rochelle Jordan
Sepalcure is the coming together of two creative musical talents, Travis Stewart (aka Machinedrum) and Praveen Sharma (who also works as Braille). Opener ‘Fight For Us’ is a shimmering, sun kissed and trilling electronic affair with lazy chords drifting next to heartfelt female vocals.

* Ilk – Future shapes
Ilk’s LOST EP project is now available on bandcamp.

* FaltyDL -Visceral
Brooklyn-based DJ and producer FaltyDL keeps his sights firmly on the club with the dancefloor-ready grooves of ‘Visceral’.

* Nikitch – Arps
A classical musician at first, Nicolas Morant alias Nikitch then is a producer influenced by jazz, electro and trip hop bands. His music, which is tinged with footwork and trap, rapidly gets support from artists such as Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson and Cid Rim, as well as from labels like Brownswood, Château Bruyant, Soulection and now he’s preparing an album for 2016 with Cascade Records – soundcloud

* Teleskop – WMAP
TomE’s friend Darko (also featured on the previous hotlist) but this time under another moniker.

* Jim Dunloop – Listen feat. Mr Krime
Out on BBE records.

* Marta Ren & the Groovelvets – I’m not your regular woman
Marta has been around in the Portuguese scene since the mid 90s lending her deep and powerful voice amongst the others to break-beat outfit The Bombazines. But Marta’s passion has always been for the deepest funk and rawest soul of the sixties and now is time for her to go on by herself – bandcamp

* Joon Moon – Chess
The soulful encounter between enchanting Krystle Warren, originally from Kansas City but recently exiled in Paris, and the mysterious Julien Decoret. Their first e.p. “Chess” showcases a mix of precise and impressive pop and soul arrangements. “Warren’s voice is an extraordinary instrument, murmuring with tenderness at times, growling with intensity at others. It vividly recalls Nina Simone in its depth and smokiness, as well as John Martyn and (Jeff) Buckley in terms of virtuosic variety.” – The Guardian

* TOKiMONSTA – Put It Down feat Anderson .Paak & KRNE
Los Angeles-based producer TOKiMONSTA just announced details for her upcoming mini-album Fovere, which will available January 29 on her imprint, Young Art Records. The first single from the album “Put It Down” features Anderson .Paak & KRNE. TOKi’s textured production pulls a variety of melodic samples together to create a sound that is airy and light, while KRNE’s beats and percussion play against her lush signature sound.

* Mighty Atlas – A Tribe Called Yoruba
Mighty Atlas is a Dutch group bringing you a combination of future beats, dub, jazz, pandemic grooves and 80’s electrofunk on the debut EP ‘Where day and night meet’.

* Erykah Badu – Hello
From Erykah Badu’s new mixtape You Caint Use My Phone: Missed connections, call waiting, answering machines—thanks to pop music, these are enshrined anachronisms (kinda like “mixtape”), and we will always understand that the phone was once a stationary thing, something you had to sit near to use – via pitchfork.
